We serve a limited number of clients, so that we
can serve them well. A typical engagement begins with conversations about a site and the business's
objectives for it. Technical information is then obtained about the site, the site logs are
downloaded and studied, and the site is evaluated. By analyzing the logs, it's possible to know the
sources of present visitors to the site, how visitors behave when they reach the site, how long the
average visitor stays on the site, and much more information. This analysis is used to determine a
plan of action, jointly with the business, for improving the effeciveness of the site.
Here are some typical steps that can make up the plan:
- put a Google sitemap on the site so that
Google will index it promptly and often
- identify the search terms that are
delivering the most interested visitors and target pages around those terms
- review meta tags and optimize for search
engine position
- edit site copy for better search engine
effectiveness
- plan for a link exchange campaign with
other sites
- put appropriate alt tags on

A successful engagement requires for both parties to be comfortable working together, so that the
foundation for a successful relationship can be established. This first period of working
together--without charge--is intended for just that purpose. The client has the benefit of work
that is done to improve the effectiveness of the site and strategies that are developed, all
without charge.
If it becomes apparent that there is productive work to do with an engagement, and both parties
look forward to the relationship, then an engagement begins.
Our work is priced on a fixed-price basis, with a fixed monthly retainer paid at the beginning of
the month for services for that month. There is no obligation to any fixed time of the engagement,
although most client engagements continue for years. However, if you are not satisfied with the
services you are receiving at any time, you can simply cease paying.
